When did you Start Potty Training *Poll*
posted 4th Dec
Just a General Inquiry as to when Most children start to potty train. and sex of the child. Ive always heard it was easier to train a girl, but wondered if there was any truth behind it.
DD just turned 2, and we want to attempt to start PT, when she was 14 months, she would sit on the potty and pee (with us putting her on it) once a day she would pee, for about a week. Then after the week, and she decided she was afraid of her potty so we stopped putting her on it for fear she would get traumatized. Now she just has no interest and would rather be running around then take the 5 seconds to sit and pee. She hates getting diaper changes because she doesnt want to stay still. Shes been running around in her PJ pants (Easier for her to pull up and down) for the last 2-2.5 hours with no accidents, but she can sit on her potty for 20 minutes then get up walk away and pee on the floor. Any Suggestions on how to get her to NOT get off the potty and pee on the floor, and how to start potty training besides what DH and I are doing.... TIA

My daughter is about to be 2 and I don't think she's quite ready. From what I've seen, it's easiest when they can tell you they need to go, not just when they have gone.

I wait until they tell me they are ready.
K was 2 months shy of 3 and was fully day and night potty trained in 48 hours.
M started using the potty at 22 months but now at 35 months is fully day time (even out and about) trained. Night time isnt coming anytime soon.

i used the 3 day potty training on my son 3 weeks after he turned 2. he was fully potty trained in 2 years, 3 weeks, 3 days.

We had tried once every couple months starting at 18months, but ultimately she decided when she wanted to be.
It was a couple days after her 3rd birthday and she took her diaper off, put panties on (completely by herself) and there was no looking back and we've never had an accident!

#1 (boy) had a lot of stop-and-go's due to moving, new baby, daddy deploying... he reverted a lot. he PT'd when he was a little over 3. it took about a week once we were actively PT'ing. we "naked" PT'd
#2 (boy) was 3. again, it took about a week. again, "naked"
#3 (girl) was 2 1/2. she had a bad diaper rash and hurt too much to wear diaper. she wore nothing that night, but wore panties the next day. she was PT'd that night.
#4 (girl) is a little over 2 now, and we tried. she showed signs of being ready right before she turned 2, but we just moved, and she reverted. I'm not pushing her, but am waiting on her to show signs again

My daughter turned 2 in october and so far weve just started talking about it and letting her sit on the "big potty" shes gone poop in it twice..but it was more of me knowing when she was about to go and catching her before she went than her doing. Shes def interested but i dont think shes quite ready yet. I will probably start to push it more closer to 2.5 if she isnt potty trained yet. I really dont want to push it too much though
