Cosleeping Mamas!

posted 4th Dec
Naps are getting frustrating.

I nurse him to sleep and he wont let me sneak away anymore except if its bedtime. I've been feeling bad because dinner either gets started late or I make it early and SO microwaves it.

What was your routine for naps?

I co slept at night, but never during naps.

Is it possible to have him nap in his crib, and co sleep at night?

Baby wear. Only during teething or growth spurt did I have that issue with DD though. Other times I could leave the room and she wouldn't budge.

Peyton is 16 months old and we don't BF so I usually just hold him and let him have his paci. He falls asleep and I lay him down by himself after I am sure he's asleep, but I wait a good while to make sure he's actually asleep before laying him down because if he's even slightly awake when I put him down he will wake up and I either have to hold him to get him to fall back asleep or he just wakes up and refuses to nap anymore.

How old is he? Peyton can lay on the couch now without falling off.

When my lo was little I napped with him because I was so tired all the time but now at 12 months I still nurse him down for naps and bed time. But I don't always need that nap. So when I stared to have the same issue you are having I started to trick LO. Now I nurse him down in the living room watching TV. It only takes about 10-15 min. then I put him in bed and he is fine to just roll right over and nap.

On the few days that he really needs me to nap with him... well I just do. I love napping with my LO so much anyway

He's 12 1/2 months...I mean my bed is on the floor so that's not an issue...I just don't know how to put him to sleep without nursing him...he cries for it. If I rock him to sleep he wakes up as soon as I put him down.

Does he have a nap schedule? If so, nurse him right before nap time (if it's a normal feeding time), then lay him down in bed, say goodnight and walk out. I don't know how he'll react but it's worth a try.

I had always been able to just lay DD in bed and walk out and she put herself to sleep. I hope DS is the same way!

Yeah, we started young. I don't remember how young but it's been this way since 4 months old, at least.

He'll do it, you just have to teach him.
