668 is okay. You can still get loans with that. And that will stay on your credit for 5 or 7 years. Also cell phone companies don't report for good payments, only overdue stuff.

The $700 from the bank will be on your credit for 7 years.

Cell phones do not report on good standing accounts only negative standing accounts.

668 is a good score.

668 is ok, you're still able to get loans, but the bank thing will be on your credit for 7 years and cell phone companies don't report, only if your not paying. To build credit you need a credit card or loan.

Banks often don't report to credit, they report to check systems (something like that) which other banks check when you want an account. That's how it was when I worked for a bank at least.

The banks themselves don't report to the credit bureaus but the collection systems do.

Yes, but a lot don't report them to collections. They won't report over-drafted accounts. I had an account over drafted one (I was young and stupid, lol) and they never reported it. Like I said, maybe it's different now, or with other banks. Part of my point was that just because it isn't on your credit report doesn't mean it's taken care of. They'll report you to a different system that effects your ability to deal with banks.

My bank reported it to a collection agency.

I just tried to sign up for a credit card through Discover for a student credit card and it says:

Key factors that affected your credit score were as follows:
1) INSUFFICIENT CREDIT EXPERIENCE

How the SmUrf am I suppose to get credit experience if you won't give me a card?!

I know a woman who has a spending addiction. She had at least two accounts at each of 8 different banks that she OD"d and every single one was reported. I'm assuming it's a lot more strict because of the economy though.
