My baby is almost 5. (My first born lol) when he was 2 1/2 he was attacked by a pitbull. The dog tore off the right side of his dace a ns deglived a chunk of his right arm. Doctors weren't optimistic and when he pulled through we knew wed have a lifetime of doc appts and surgeries. So far he's endured 7 surgeries in 2 years. Well, a week or so ago we went to see the opthalmalic plastic surgeon. His eyelid drapes over his eye. We aren't sure he can see from it because its hard to test with the abnormalities. We knee he'd be having surgery to repair it but figured it'd be next spring since the eye surgeon was going to coordinate with his craniofacial plastic surgeon who just did his skin flap for his face. Well, yesterday we git a call from the eye surgeon stating they want to do the surgery as soon as possible. We are looking at the first of JANUARY!!!!! We are excited to get it fixed but omg we aren't prepared. Believe it ie not these surgeries take A LOT of planning!!! Im also worried. That's a delicate area to work ib and they could potentially make the nerve damage worse. Or damage his ye. He's already had one eye surgery to correct the muscles. This is a lot ti take in and knowing we only have weeks instead of months is super overwhelming!!!!! Sorry I just had to post my feelings. I don't want to say anything to my family just yet until we know more so they don't stress.
