I spanked and now I feel like smurf

I NEVER spank. I don't think Cora's ever had her butt swatted, hand tapped... nothing

Cora got mad at me for brushing her hair and she turned around and spit in my face.

Literally hawked a loogie on my cheek

I wasn't even thinking. I swatted her butt. She was so shocked and it was instant tears. I put her in her room for a time out while I regained composure.

I went in and talked to her but I still feel like smurf over it.

I don't even know what happened. Just that one second and my reaction took over.

 

It happens, don't beat yourself up about it.

I'm sorry mama, I spank as a last resort and I hate the feeling but spitting in your face is highly unacceptable.

I have never spanked either but honestly I think I would have had the same reaction as you in that situation.

Spitting is disgusting. I'm not a 'spanker' but I think it has its time and place. Don't beat yourself up about it

I believe spankings are sometimes necesary.

Sounds like she needed a wake up call if she's 4 and spitting in your face. Sorry you feel guilty about it.

It was so unexpected

I know how you feel. I spanked once because LO smeared smurf all over his room. I kept it together until I put him in the bath then he laughed and smeared it on the shower wall and said "I'm funny." I swatted him once and then started crying. He was totally unphased by.it and kept saying "I'm sorry" because I was so upset.
