If you can't watch the video, it's about not shaving to raise awareness to cancer. The video is really funny though.

No I will not be participating- I feel like these trends are not really special anymore and even if it was no one but my husband would be able to tell so what's the point?

Well heck. Here I thought I was simply growing it out for a near future Brazillian wax. Who knew it was for a good cause.

The only person who could prove I was sticking to it would be my boyfriend and I'm sure he'd happily match any donations made to make me NOT participate!

How is it raising awareness? Raising awareness to who? Your SO? Unless the participants are strippers it doesn't really do anything. I feel like cancer awareness has become a novelty with the I love boobies bracelets and no-shave months. People are just doing it to look cool and fit in. It's kind of sad.

Also, it would make more sense to do something like "No Makeup December" if they really want to raise "awareness".

Does it really matter how awareness is raised? I mean, all publicity is good right?

Typically, I would agree with you. I'm sure most people have lost a loved one to cancer, and my mother, grandmother, paternal uncle and great grandmother all died from different types of cancers, I just think it's a bit offensive that it's a novelty. Example, my grandmother died of breast cancer and seeing 14 year old girls wearing I <3 Boobies bracelets bugs me because it's without the right intention. Like they are using cancer to be funny and/or ironic.

Also, my brother-in-law is dying from Hodgkin's Lymphoma and I have been actively fundraising to try and get him the money he needs to get treatment (he's overseas) and it's hard to get people to donate even a couple dollars, yet everyone and their momma has some sort of cancer awareness bracelet or other novelty item.

My papa and my nana both had cancer and died. My nana had (I think) breast and uterine cancer. I'm not at all offended because IMO, the ends justify the means.

I just added this to my last post:
