My Official Elf on the Shelf Thread

I'm going TRY to update this with pics we do every day  

Today our elf arrived in the mail! Ethan was playing with his train in his room, so I was able to bring him inside real quick without him noticing. So I opened him up, put his arms around the book and put him back on the box. Then I wrote "To Ethan, From Santa" on the outside of it. That's all I had time to do before Ethan came running in to check him out lol. He was super excited. We read the book together, and then Ethan named our little elf Dasher. I put him in the tree (it was decided that I can touch him since I'm a grown up), and he will be hanging out there all day today.

I wish I had a good camera to take pics with, but my Galaxy S3 will just have to do lol

Whats all this elf on a shelf stuff about. Fill me in!

I wish I had one. DD is only 8 months though so it wouldn't be that fun.

We have an elf his name is Elliott and he is a trouble maker... my boys have soo much fun with it :-)

It's basically an elf that Santa sends every year at Christmas; he reports back to Santa. Every night after the kids go to bed he moves to a different spot in the house to spy on them.

Last night I put the elf on SOs computer to stare at him all day... And his computer spontaneously got a virus - thank you Santa.

im defiantly plan on doing elf on a shelf when DD gets older....so cute

Im a cheap mom so I opted for a different elf. But hes way cute  
I'm gonna follow this! Maybe steal some ideas...y'know  

I really want to do this but I am not creative.

Pinterest has a bunch of ideas... I have stolen a few but some of them are off the cuff and have been our own creativness... one of the boys favorites was when Elliott built a hammock out of the deers antlers and slept there all day

I may have to get one of these when my youngest gets much bigger.

DS is only 10months so it wouldn't be fun yet "/ but I can't wait to try it when he's older

Yeah I wanted to get one last year but by the time I found out about it, it would have been kinda late. I'm gonna use Pinterest for ideas  

We read the book and watched the DVD, but I want to to be a fun thing we do, not creeptastic spying/stalking  

Today we are going to go visit my sister and spend the night. Our elf wants to make sure we bring him along  




He packed himself some overnight things and is reading about Moses lol

Today when we got up, Dasher had gotten cozy with my sister's elf Rosie!
