Measuring behind
posted 4th Dec
Okay, so 2 weeks ago (I was 32 weeks) And I was measuring 31cm at my last prenatal visit.. Today I had another prenatal visit (I am 34w, 2d) And I was only measuring at 28cm.. Wth? The DR said don't be worried, and he didn't seem concerned either.. I am worried though because i'm measuring far behind. On a good note, I gained 3lbs in 2 weeks.. What's the most you girls have measured behind?
I also let him know that i've been having sharp, cramp like pains for at least 2 hours on and off, along with a sore back.. He didn't say ANYTHING. I love when OB don't say smurf or explain anything. It seems unprofessional to me.

ok, when you get past 32 weeks the way your baby is positioined makes a HUGE difference in how you will measure. for some reason my little looves curling up on the right side of my belly. but one week she didnt and i measure 2cm off.. it was all just the way she was positioned... in other regards.. the cramping and sore back!! crazy.. i would have been pissed if my ob didnt explain it. but i always make sure i get my ? answered before i leave, OR if that ob is unresponsive to you call up to your hospitals labor and delivery unit and they will answer questions for you too.

I thought measuring 6w behind would be a very bad thing, and didn't know I could measure that far behind based on my baby's position.. My OB is Egyptian and doesn't explain anything, OR make sense lol.. I told him and he's like "oh wow"

the most I measured was 35 weeks and I went over 41 weeks. My measurement also went down around 34 weeks because I dropped (according to Dr.)

My boy hasn't dropped yet, and he's been in the same position for a few weeks now.

Ever since I hit 28 weeks I have been measuring behind to.. my last appointment was Monday I had lost 6 pds. I eat TRUST me I eat.. idk why I'm losing weight, I was a healthy girl before pregnancy. I am 32 weeks 3 days and Monday I was measuring 28 weeks.. my babygirl is also 2 weeks behind and her weight is in the 9 percentile. I now have weekly ultrasounds to make sure she is growing. They have already told me they was inducing at 36/37 weeks cause they fear IUGR. She has always been right on the growing sechdule/weight until we hit 28/29 weeks. So my dates are not off.. I wish you the best of luck hon. I wouldn't worry to much with belly measuring up I would be more worried if you baby wasn't thriving. Your belly can be behind and you baby ahead of sechdule. Mine just happened to be both me and baby behind.

after i had 3 us. one regualar to figure out the sex and whatnot the other 2 were for growth and weight checks. at 28 weeks they changed my due date because i was constantly measuring 2 weeks behind.

Some people you can't tell they have dropped unless they actually get a pelvic exam. So if you haven't had one of those telling you what station your baby is at it could be possible. I wouldn't be worried if your doctor isn't. I am 39 weeks and always measure a week ahead and today only measured 37 and I guess it's from baby dropping in the birth canal.

i would probably cry if i was earlier than 34 weeks lol. so over being pregnant. i usually always measured exact on, but now i kind of think my baby did drop.
i guess fundal height measurements aren't accurate.. thankfully i'm getting one last u/s next wednesday. that will tell me my measurements, but will it allow me to know if my baby actually has dropped?

Yes they should be able to tell u if you have dropped. They can also measure your cervix length and all that good stuff if your doctor wants them to.

If you are feeling tht something is wrong talk to them until they listen. My baby stopped growing all together at 35 weeks and had dangerously low fluid. I'm the one that said isn't that a little small at my 38 week appointment about my measurements and they did a scan and bam I was induced that night. I didn't blame my doctor as I moved twice before I got to him and the old doctor hasn't sent my 32 week scan results to him. But if you feel that anything is wrong make them believe you!
