Amen! My DH is still under the impression that its all up to the woman when it comes to birth control.

After.my second I talked to my doctor and said I was done having kids with my ex husband cause of the abuse but wasnt ready to get anything permant cause I wasnt sure what the future held.

My doctors response was I recommend the mirena. I said ok what is that and why do you recommend it. He said it last for 5 years will decrease the issues you were having before you got pregnant with your period (i bleed a lot for a long time each month, bad cramps, mood swings, and I failed on any bc pills). He did tell me however, that people do have issues with mirena if they have several different sex partners. They ask to ensure you are pregnant only sleeping with one person and he asked the size of my husbands package. He said men that have a large package can break the mirena or make it dislodge. My ex husband was average and we had no issues with it. I'm now remarried and I had the mirena in up til february of this year. I had no issue it with him either and he is a little above average.

I hit the 5 year mark this year so got it out in february and they say it can take up to a year for your periods to come back regulary (mine stopped coming completely after the first year of mirena) Mine came back within a week of getting mirena out came regular. I was pregnant by april.

I got the nuva ring after my 2nd and followed directions to a "T". Now I'm expecting my 3rd lol. I loved the depo shot but its not the same for everyone.
