Birth Control Pill and First Period.

posted 4th Dec
I went back on the pill on the 22 Nov.
Doc said I could start taking straight away even though I hadn't had my first period yet.
Then on the 27 Nov I got my first Period.
I'm STILL bleeding an incredible amount. I realise that the pill takes a few weeks to get back in your system and help regulate your periods but I would have thought the pill would have at least slowed it down a little?! It's really starting to get to me, I've NEVER had heavy periods before so this if sm**rfing awfull! lol. I feel sorry for you ladies that get this every month.
Do I stop taking the pill and let me period stop and start again or do I keep taking it? x

your 1st ppd period can be longer and heavier than normal. it may have nothing to do w/the pills. if u want to continue w/the pills it can take up to 3mo for them to regulate your cycle.

yea i realise the pill has nothing to do with how heavy i'm bleeding. But in the past if I started taking the pill again it'd stop the period after a couple days. I assumed it'd do the same this time.

I'm just not sure wether to keep taking them till the sheet of pills run out. or stop taking them and start up again once this period stops.

I didn't know if taking them while i'm still bleeding is harmfull? My doctors are useless and just likes to prescribe and get you out the room for the next patient. lol.
