9 month old weight and poop question

posted 4th Dec
How much did your 9 month old weigh? I took DD for her 9 month appointment today and she weighed in at 17lbs 11 oz and 26.5 inches long. Her Dr said she has slowed down and wanted to see her in a month. He asked me what I feed her .....hinting that I dont feed her enough?? I nurse her when she wants and in between she gets fruits, veggies, meats, yogurt...anything Im eating. He told me to keep feeding her and then mentioned formula!! I do NOT want to give her formula....Also she only poops every few days sometimes she will go 3 days in a row then not for another 3 days. She is very irregular...Should I be really concerned about this?? I should also mention that DH and I are not very big. I am 5'6 and weigh about 117lbs and Dh is 5'11 and weighs around 150 or so....

She's the same size as my dd and her dr asked me her feeding habits. You could see the shock on his face when I told him she has (well at the time lol) 7 oz of formula every 4 hrs and baby food 3 times a day with some snacks. He came to the conclusion that she's burning more calories then she's taking in so we have switched to a 'high calorie' diet meaning she gets regular meals (table food) 3 times a day, organic soy milk (she has dairy issues) or juice with her meal and snacks then formula first thing in the morning and right before bed. She's doing great with it and it seems to be working.

my 18month old just hit 18 lbs and she was over 7lbs at birth all babies grow at different rates i think docs stress too much about weight your kids either too fat or too thin no matter what u do ugh as long as lo is healthy why does weight matter

My DS was 19.8 and 28 at his 9 month appt. However that is because we put him on a high calorie diet when he was 6 months because he was having trouble gaining weight. He was burning way more than he was taking in because he was/ is a super active baby. You shouldn't have to introduce formula just introduce more food.

i got my baby boy weighed just before 10 months..he was 22lbs 5oz but had lost 2oz due to crawling which he started 2 weeks before, she didn't seem concerened at all and wasn't even going to mention the weight,it was me that has started to worry, but i know he eats so much during the day, burning off more calories then taking in i suppose,i am taking him back in 2 months to be weighed again, luckily i can feel he has gained since his last weigh in last week.....every baby is differant, try not to worry.x

my youngest was like 15 pounds when she was a year old. She was very small and had pooping problems for a very long time. Once w egot it all cleared up she starting gaining better. But she has always been small.
She is still only 30 lbs, and she is almost 4 years old.
