Happy but worried...

posted 4th Dec
Today was DS's meeting with the school district since he is transitioning from EI to the school district. I am happy because he was able to drop the special education therapy and he does not qualify for a program through the state for children with disabilities but I'm nervous about him going to a "normal" preschool...
One of my co-workers children ended up getting kicked out of preschool due to aggression and behavioral issues and had to go to a school designed for children with disabilities. I really don't want it to get to that point... DS is severely delayed in speech which I feel leads to a lot of his aggression/behavioral issues so I am hoping that once his speech improves his behavior will as well but I am still nervous... Anyone else go through this with their children? Have a child in EI but was able to attend a "normal" preschool? How did it go? TIA.

Not 100% the same but when we put DD in preschool she barely talked. She was never around kids her age. Now she talks non stop and loves preschool.

I think out will be a good thing if he has good teachers that know that he is speech delayed. Just talk with them so they know and you guys can keep in contact so things don't go bad.

And I also think the preschool rooms r usually a lot better than toddler for like fighting and such.

GL hun and congrats to him for graduating
