7 month old/eating

posted 4th Dec
What were you feeding your 7 month old? Besides formula and bought baby food. I'm starting to make her baby food on my own and need ideas on what too feed her. Were you feeding them anything else?

My 6 month old has to be sitting on my lap when I eat supper (even if he already ate) and taste everything I have ....not actually bites, but get the flavor of it. However I do give him little bites of mashed potatoes when we have them. If I don't let him taste the flavor of my food...he will scream at me LOL. Not cry...like literally scream ha

So you think I could cut up veggies into small pieces and let her start feeding herself with her fingers? She tried my cousin's baby's banana puff things (they dissolve in the mouth) and she loved those and did very well eating them. I was just curious as to what I could start giving her.

i did with mine i just made sure the carrots were cooked well so they were more mushy than crunchy. the tree part of the brocolli is usually good too. or you can just mash it with a fork and mix it in with mashed potatoes too.

Oh yeah. I knew there were certain things that babies at this age can't eat. I'm allergic to nuts, so I won't be giving her anything nut-related for a whiiile. What about strawberries?

also you know your baby better than we do. I know some kids who arent capable of eating that at 7 months but mine were. Mine were eating cheerios at 7 months.

i think your supposed to wait for strawberries, peanutbutter, eggs...and a couple other things. Altho they have baby strawberries so not sure about those. Im pretty sure i gave me kids strawberries before a year old.

These are great ideas! She's been wanting to eat table food since 2 months old. She would literally scream when we would eat. I'm glad she's finally able to start eating table foods.   So, what about spaghetti? Very light on the sauce of course; and no meat.

I thought you were supposed to wait for those. When I looked at baby food labels, there were like two with strawberries in them, or at least flavoring I guess. I was taking notes as to what I should puree.   She seems to do okay with pieces of food, so I felt like I should start giving her a little bit of table foods.

I'll write that down. Does the dairy cause constipation?

I think you are suppposed to wait. All i know is i think i gave them before a year though, maybe just before a year. But if the baby strawberries arent actual fruit then thats kinda gross haha...just flavoring...blah thats gross!
