Son of ahhhh. Vent

posted 4th Dec
I went to drill this weekend. I left Friday afternoon. I told DH that DD needed a bath and he needs to brush her hair daily. (she is 2 and her hair is down to her butt so it gets matted really easily if you don't brush it every morning and evening)

I came home Sunday night. She was already in bed. Whatever.

I got her up yesterday morning and she smurfing stunk. IMO if a TWO year old reeks of BO, it's been WAY too long. So I asked him if she had a bath. He said no. Her last bath was smurfing Wednesday of last week! (We bathe every other day in the winter since her skin gets really dry, hence the bath needed on Friday!)

So I gave her a bath after we dropped DS off at school. I took her hair out of her pony tail and holy smurfing smurf it was the worst it has EVER been. She was cranky yesterday so I twisted it in a bun so it couldn't get any worse.

I gave her a bath this morning so I could get it wet to get the knot out. It took me THREE smurfing hours. And she was hysterical the entire time! All because DH doesn't know how to smurfing give her a damn bath or simply brush her hair. It's not like I asked him to braid it (like I usually do at night) or do anything else. I simply said wash the kid and brush her smurfing hair.

Yet his son was bathed every smurfing night and everything was kosher with him!

I'm tired of the favoritism. So smurfing done.

I am angry and hurt. He never pays attention to her. I mean I trust him enough to keep her alive and fed but that's about it. This could have been prevented! She was horrified!!

If he can take care of his kid but not yours that would be a big problem for me.

I asked him why he didn't do it. He never did give me an answer for the bath thing and he told me he afraid to brush her hair because he has seen me get knots out before where she cries. I said "she is older now. She isn't laying on her hair 75% of the time now so all it takes is a simple brush through"... He said he still didn't want to do it. So he would rather just leave it go and have her be hysterical for me when I have to spend hours brushing it out.

That's how it always is. If she asks him to read a book he pretty much ignores her until she starts beating him with the book to get his attention. Then he yells at her for hitting. Well she wouldn't have done it if you paid attention to her before!

Well it's not like she is just my kid and I leave her with him on my drill weekends (like he does with his son to me)... She is both of ours. His son is from his previous marriage. And before, I played that off as "He doesn't get to see him as much so he gives him more attention"... Well, now we have full custody of him. His mom sees him like once every 3-6 months. No reason for it now. And neglecting of her basic needs is ridiculous.

I'm glad you're at least considering it. That behavior is absolutely ridiculous.

This Momma doesn't play around when it comes to her kids. I'm assuming there has been more problems?
