Cute  ...

I feel like my son might be too young to learn much from it right now tho? I could be wrong. He loves stuffed animals. I'm making him a sock monkey!

I was thinking like a bead maze or those shapes you hammer on?

how old is he?
ds had a my pal scout when he was a year old. he just lost intrest in it a couple months ago. then he had a mobigo and this year he is getting a innotab.
he loves puzzles and books and lace cards. and he has a tag reader that he loves.
he still has a cookie jar counting toy that he recieved his first birthday he still plays with it. (he is 3)
we also have fridgemagnets, one is the Abc's and it says them when you put it in the "dock" and we have a word one. thats a hit for all the kids who come over. The we have sorting blocks and stacking cups. and this year i got him the Twisterz Alphabet matcher. so i dont have a review on that yet

I've been looking into this too and I'm trying to go with some of the classic toys... stacking cups, super easy puzzles, that toy that has slots for the shapes (don't know the name).

I can't remember where I got mine (sorry, terrible memory) but just googled the stacking cups and found these which are very reasonable:
http://www.google.com/search?q=stacking+cups&hl=en&gbv=2&prmd=ivns&source=univ&tbm=shop&tbo=u&sa=X&ei=3Ey-UIfpD-qH0QHpm4HAAw&ved=0CDgQsxg

And for the puzzles he likes these:

The toy I couldn't remember the name of is a "shape sorting" toy. And the M&D site has it listed for age 2 but I think a 1 year old would still like it.

or

You get the idea.
