I kept thinking dd's was infected. But every time she went back to Pediatrics for weight checks, they kept saying no, it was fine. lol
And it was like that too. lol
Do they still say to keep it dry? like no baths and that till it falls out? Curious, cause here the nciu kept bathing her everyday getting it wet, so I asked when I brought her home if it needed to be dry and no baths etc....and they said no, you can bath babies with the cord still attached now. lol

DD's looked pretty nasty too, and hers stayed in longer than it should have. Her Pedi said that as long as it wasn't inflamed or bleeding, that there could be some crust/discharge from it. It's decaying blood/matter that was left behind, according to him.

our hospital told us to keep it dry and not to clean it and theirs fell off at 10 and 11 days without any problems. If you're worried, i'd get it checked out

Yellow is just body fluid being pushed out. Completely normal. Green is not normal so much. Just watch it. If it gets red (angry red) and they tun a fever get it checked. Umphilitis is very serious and nearly killed my 13kids week old
