Unsure oh what to think

I'm 40 weeks 4 days pregnant and I had my bloody show 5 days ago and since then I have been getting contractions some painful some not, but they will come every 10 mins and get quicker and then just stop for a while and then come back I have been getting hot flashes while getting contractions I have have also been having shooting pains and cramps I feel horrible but I think it's just false labour has anyone else been getting this?

It could be false labour but you could call your midwife and she may check for dilation. If you are in labour she may give you a sweep you help things along as you're past your due date and have been having pains for a few days.
Saying that though they won't want you to go in until your contractions are at least 5 mins apart lasting a couple of mins, or your waters have gone!!

Well my last midwife appointment she said I was 2 cm dilated but I have been experiencing alot of pain throughout my pregnancy so thinking its just that maybe and my contractions do sometimes get to 5 mins but then fade so I think I will just wait it out

Yea I would ride it out, if your worried though it wouldn't hurt to call.
They need to be very 5 minutes all the time for about an hour or two.
Take some paracetamol and have a bath, helped me in early labour!!

It you have a birthing/gym ball they can help too. I used one in early labour. You can sit on it and bounce or circle your hips. Then as the contractions get stronger it's really good to lean over and put your weight on and rock and cirle, as it moves with you unlike leaning over the sofa or a chair!
