posted 4th Dec
got email today and iam a buyer aswell

Hi Kelly,

We hope that you and your little ones are looking forward to all the joys of the festive season.

Unfortunately we have some sad news to share with you today. From spring 2013, Huggies® nappies will no longer be available in the UK and Ireland. However, you'll still be able to buy Huggies® nappies at local shops and supermarkets over the next couple of months – we will keep you updated on where you can still find them from January. If you have any questions, or would like more information, please visit the Huggies® Club website

It's on the huggies official website, I don't think it is.

I don't have an ASDA anywhere nearby and we don't have a car.. ugh. Morrison's own brand are okay, but they aren't as good as Huggies

Is it due to that factory fire maybe?

So glad I switched to cloth!
When I used disposables at first I would only buy huggies!! I switched to ASDA's little angels and they were even better then huggies! If you don't have an asda near you, you could get them delivered. All of their own brand stuff if amazing, their creams, washes etc are better than Johnsons and so much cheaper. If you buy in bulk it'll be worth the P&P!!

Nope, no fire. They are still doing the pull-ups, swim nappies and wipes, just not normal nappies. Their profits on the nappies have risen since last year. I have been trying to find out why but I can't find any answers, they seem to keep sending their answers in different directions away from the question. You can still get them everywhere else, just not the UK and Ireland

DH has just said that he thinks it's because of the new pension plans coming in over here, hence the 2 factories closing here. And 3 factories in Europe are being closed because the economies in those 3 countries are crap. And since the factories here are being closed, huggies and us will have to pay more for the nappies to be imported. This is what DH thinks, he may be wrong!!

I think I will get some delivered and try them out, thanks! (I forgot some of the big supermarkets deliver, how dumb is that?   )
We normally buy Huggies in bulk from Costco when our friends are driving up there, I'm going to miss that value for money.
