waterbreaking.

posted 4th Dec
Had my check up today, dilated to 3cm and he's super low. Well I had super bad vag pains which was told that it was from cervix dilating. Well I just went to the bathroom and am now having those pains. Also having abdominal pain and cramping like pain. And lower back pain. Baby is also moving around a lot and kicking and stuff. (Had all this earlier and it eventually went away afer a few hours. Just figured it was cause of just being checked and I read you could have all those labor like pains for a few hours and then they would just go away.) And now I feel like I need to pee again. I'm a little afraid of my water breaking right now. I want everything to be done and over with, but labor and everything just scares me!

Now I'm like scared and worried and nervous. I'm freaking out a little. I mean it could be nothing and nothing could happen right now, but the thought scares me a little bit. What scares me more is having it happen tomorrow at school or work and having my bf possibly be at work and me being at work. And it all just kind of worries me, freaks me out, and I feel embarassed, cause it would honestly be embarassing and a bit humiliating for me if my water broke in class or at work tomorrow...

If it happens it happens. You can't stop it. Its nothing to be embarrassed about. My coworkers and managers were worried about me going into labour at work, since we work shifts alone. But my maternity leave starts just before Xmas, because technically I should be on bed rest. I hope that little one stays in there as possible though. Good luck

most people don't have their water break on its own. Even those that do.. it's often just a trickle.. so if it'll help you feel better... wear a pad.

You're pregnant.. if your water breaks.. it won't shock anyone. It'll be ok.

that said... I have to throw out there.. vaginal pain does NOT mean ccervical change. you cannot feel your cervix dilating.

why should you be on bedrest just before christmas? I've never heard of a scheduled bedrest?

Everyone I know has had their waters break naturally, me included with with my first and second pregnancy and it wasn't just a trickle....it was a full on gush. Everyone is different.

Don't be embarrassed if your water breaks while your in public. It's a natural thing that comes along with pregnancy

My waters went first in my previous pregnancy, meconium waters in fact, and that was a gush, and didn't stop either for ages after. Had no other labour signs at the time other than a 'show' 4 days earlier. I soon started having contractions about 20 minutes later. The best thing you can do, is to stop worrying and stressing yourself out over it, as you don't want to end up with meconium waters like I had (I was stressed at the time when it happned). Otherwise, sit back and wait for it to happen, if its meant to be its meant to be. Some waters break before labor starts, some peoples don't break until during.

Guess I didn't need to worry about it being in public. My water broke at 7am this morning. I'm at the hospital. I think they are finally done asking a million questions and doing all the tests to make sure it was actually my water and stuff.

Which it was definitely my water. Woke up to it breaking and gushing everywhere! It was a huge gush and now I'm slowly leaking. And then I saw my mucus plug. (Which is really gross!) So he'll hopefully be here soon!

I thought this process would be faster cause my water broke, but I've already been here for an hour and a half.

I think you misunderstood, I should be on be rest now, so I'm taking my maternity leave 2 weeks earlier than I planned. Its nothing super serious that can harm my baby though so a few more shifts at work is fine.
