I'm trying to think of other bands that tried and failed to pull that off. I think Queen and ACDC attempted it, but I'm too tired to think right now  

im not sure about queen or acdc but alice in chains replaced one of the singers & actually pulled it off

The list goes on!

too tired to type..but id say Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie are my all time fav <3
