Do they know clomid is what caused it?
I'm so sorry. I know how it is to be scared of your own body... it's not fun at all.
Plus all you do is worry worry worry and wonder what's gonna happen, so then you stress out more. The doctors tell you not to worry like it's that easy.

Isn't there something they do for incompetent cervix that would keep your cervix closed? A cerclage, is it? I'm not 100% but I thought they could stitch your cervix closed until 36 weeks or something. It's so lucky they caught it though, it looks like it goes unnoticed quite a bit.
I feel kinda bad now, I bitched from 38 weeks onwards   I'm sorry you don't get to get to that stage of your pregnancy
It'll be hard with a preemie, but the hospital will help you and I'm sure there are some mama's on here that would be happy to share their experiences. I'm not much help, I haven't got any experience with preemies or anything (hell, I've only got 5 weeks experience with being a mother to a full term baby) but I'm a good listener even though I'm so tired I'm almost illiterate at the moment, so feel free to message me if you need to vent or anything. I like learning things so could be helpful googling stuff for you

I'm so sorry you are going through this - I hope you can stay pregnant as long as you can and that when your baby does come that it is nice and healthy and a real fighter!

Is there an organisation in your area that can give you advice and help with your premmie? (The hospital will be able to tell you if there is and give you their details) perhaps you can give them a call, they will be able to give some good advice and also a bit of support if you need it...

Again, I hope it all goes as well as it possibly can and will be keeping you in my thoughts xoxo

I'm so sorry  .

I had a placental previa (not as serious, I know) with my son and I didn't find out until I started hemorrhaging in a McDonalds at 18 weeks pregnant. Within about 10 minutes, I had bleed through my clothes and to my knees and I was terrified. After losing my first son, I couldn't stand it. Luckily, he was fine and the placenta migrated but I can't imagine having that sword over my head for the duration of a pregnancy. At least my co-workers have a funny story of the time they took me to lunch and got a free trip to the hospital   .

If it helps, my Mom's last two kids were both 34 weekers. One (no steriod shots) was in NICU for a week because of the infection that caused the preterm labor and the other one (with steriod shots) never had an issue...and came out 7 pounds  .

Yeah they didn't say that but clomid causes me to release two
Eggs so I had twins. Then one didn't grow. So that's what sent me to the high risk specialist at first. Then I scheduled my 19 week u/s with him because he noticed the previa but said its common. Then I went back and he saw the vessel but y placenta had moved slightly. So he rought me back at 27 weeks to recheck it and confirmed it wasn't moving an that the vessel was attached there and diagnosed vasa previa. So up until this point I had hope that it still could move. And since the clomid caused the twins and that's the only risk factor
I had for previa then ultimately it's due to the clomid.

They never mentioned cerclage so I assume it wouldn't help because I think even my cervix thinning out can rupture the vessel.

Thanks for the support. Don't feel bad for complaining. I know lots of people do, just my emotions are raw and it hurts for me to read it right now. The worst one I read was a lady who wanted to take clomid just so she could have twins she sisnt have fertility issues. I was like seriously that doesn't always turn out the way you want it. And she was just snippy and all "well it works differently for different people". I was really upset by that.

Hmm I might try and look that up..
You get some idiots on here wanting to try castor oil and getting people to do sweeps to induce labor, but try not to read those posts. They're morons to risk their childs health "just coz".
So if you hadn't taken the clomid, they wouldn't have been monitoring you and wouldn't have found the condition to begin with. Maybe look at it that way rather than "the clomid caused it". I may have happened anyway and at least they've seen it and can do what they can to help you have a safe delivery.

Yeah I try to tell myself it could've happened in any preg. I just looked it up. It only occurs in 1:2500 births.

Im so sorry ur going thru this! Just because she is a premie doesnt mean she wont be healthy. I have a friend that had her baby at 34wks and he is healthy as a horse. As hard as it is try to keep ur stress down. Ur doing whats best for ur baby. As much as id like to have a vbac i cant and i refuse to what other think, say, or write about c-sections versus vaginal deliveries get me down. Just keep in mind how wonderful itll be to see and hold ur beautiful baby. U will be in my prayers and thoughts, ull get thru and have a beautiful baby at the end.

I had the same condition. Let me know if you have any questions for me. I had a c-section at 34 weeks and 4 days for my twins. Had no complications myself and the girls were really quite healthy - spent 2 weeks in NICU. It is a very scary thought that at any point things could go terribly wrong! I was so stressed when they delayed my c-section by 2 days in case something bad happened in the meanwhile. The hardest part for me was a prolonged hospital stay and being away from family during such a special time in my life. As I said, let me know if you have any questions. Hang in there! The early c-section is what is best for baby and you will not care that it had to be that way when you look back on it with a healthy baby in tow.

By the way. I was not on clomid. It just happens in some cases unfortunately! We are just fortunate that they found it early for us!
