Obviously first time mom to be
posted 4th Dec
Sooo I had my 36 wk check last wednesday, and my doctor said 1.5 cm dialated, as well as 70% effaced. Which in my mind said, baby is coming ANY DAY! lol
I'm now restless at night, can't get comfortable, Braxton Hicks only at night, back pain, and the baby moves like crazy! The only thing I haven't really noticed is the mucus plug. Now with each woman, I know, it's different. But I'm starting to think I have been slowly losing it this whole time and not realizing it *shocker* does this mean that I just need to wait for my water to break? B/c I dont think I can make it to either my due date, nor my inducing date.

Yea chances are ur going til ur due date..

Some people never see their mucus plug. And dilating and effacing doesnt always mean labor anyway. For some people yes but not all. Just take it easy the longer baby bakes the less chance of him/her having any issues at birth. Good luck.

you can be 1 cm for weeks sorry to burst your bubble you still have a few more weeks

The last 4 weeks are always the longest. Just so you know you dont always know when you lost your plug and not everyones water breaks when theyre in labor. out of 4 kids i only seen my plug once & only had my water break once

Having your water break is rare. If you're a first time mom you will more than likely go overdue. I'm sorry unless you get induced. Which I would not electively do. It sounds like so much more fun to me to let baby pick the birthday.

With my first pregnancy I was dialated to a 3 for over a month, I lost my mucus plug I think it was a week *maybe two weeks, can't quite remember at this time. before I had my son. and my water never broke on it's own. You can feel like you are going to pop at any moment, and still have weeks before you actually go into labor.

you're only 1.5 cm dilated. you'll make it to your due date. thats not a whole much. you can be walking around like that for a while...
i was 4cm at 28 weeks...THAT is something you need to worry about.

I was 2 centimeters for like a month. I lost pieces of my plug that whole last month too and was convinced I'd go into labor early, that there was NO way I'd even make it to 40 weeks.
I had him at 40 weeks, 4 days. lol
I think everyone assumes they'll go early. I know every little sign that even hinted to labor had me all 'Omg, is this it?!' But no. It never was. By the time I really WAS in labor, I was in denial after all the false alarms. My doctor said I was fully effaced, nearly 5 centimeters, and I was in so much pain it was hard to talk but nope. 'This baby is staying in here forever so you all can stop lying about me being in labor now.'
But seriously, you want the kid to bake as long as needed. A lot of brain development happens in that last month.

Yep, my water never broke on its own. They had to break it to attach a monitor on his head, though, and that suuuuucked. My cervix was way in the back and his head was so far down. They finally broke it but it barely trickled out. Oh and then they accidentally stuck the little probe whatever thing in my cervix at first. That was fun.
...I need to go to bed and stop reliving that bad time. lol

That means absolutely nothing. At best, it means that you're on track.
I lost bits of my mucus plug every day for 3 weeks. If your water doesn't break, it comes back. You don't lose it all at once.
Also, if you're healthy, and your baby is healthy, there's no reason you should even HAVE an induction date at this point in your pregnancy. If it's not a medical issue, then you and your doctor are both incredibly irresponsible and ridiculous for even setting one up now.

Plus just the baby dropping can open your cervix 1-2 cm. it doesn't mean your body is progressing rapidly. It just mans the baby's head is pressing down.

Hold down the fort. It will come when you least expect it.
