Anyone in Miami, FL Knows of a Dula who accepts Medicaid?

posted 4th Dec
I am in my 37th week, and have been experiencing horrible pain in my lower back, and most of all in my left sciatic nerve and leg.... I was told the best net for me, since I want a natural, non-medicated birth, would be to get a dula to help me deal with the pain during labor. This isn't my first, it;s my second, but with my first, I didn't know I was in labor till I was told by my doc I was 7.5cm dilated and by the time I got to the hospital everything happened so fast the pain I did feel was bearable and after only 3hrs of active labor I was DONE.... but I don't think it'll be that simple this time... Please if anyone in Miami, FL (I am delivery in West Kendall Baptist Hospital in kendall) knows of a dula who accepts Medicaid, please let me know I would greatly appreciate it!!!

Most doula's do not take insurance at all let alone medicaid. Maybe you could find one in training that would do it much cheaper. I know mine would do payment plans and even took on the occasional pro-bono case.

You're wrong. Doulas have an insurance reimbursement code and can accept medicaid.
