HELP!! with diaper changes.

posted 4th Dec
My son will be 8 months on the 19th..
We do not own a changing table and have always changed him on the bed (when he couldn't roll etc) or now on the floor.

He obviously associates floor with playing..So during diaper changes all he does is scream, cry and try to roll away..In order to even get it done I have to lightly very lightly put one leg over him to keep him in place.

I was thinking about putting the "bassinet" part back on his pack n play and using that? But he rolls around in that thing too..

Any advice would be lovely! I feel like this isn't normal lol.

(going to bed so replies will be tomorrow ish just wanna post before I forget again)

TIA.

He's fine. I'd be more worried if he didn't act like that during diaper changes.

Oh yeah. Now that he's mobile, he wants to be out exploring and doesn't like having to stay still for even a minute. That's all valuable time he can be using to drive you nuts by getting into everything. lol

Every baby I have seen goes through this stage at some point. Try to give him his favorite toy to distract him or something along those lines, maybe make up a little song for when it's changing time that he can get into

My kid has always flipped out during diaper changes and he'll be 8 months on the 11th. I think if he had his way, he'd never get changed at all.   Usually I give him a toy to play with or let him hold his wipes package because he likes the sound it makes (I got him some crinkly toys because of that but nope, still wants to make noise with that damn package...). It doesn't always work, though, sadly. The other day he flipped over and ugh...poop on everything. D:
