If your cervix was close and they saw a heartbeat I wouldn't worry too much. Just rest up and if you feel like you are bleeding more and if you have pain go back ASAP
Good luck mama I hope all goes well

The doctor was only giving his medical opinion. They can't ever guarantee you won't miscarry. Especially with bleeding and cramps. But it's a good thing Baby has an ultrasound and cervix is closed.

Any bleeding during pregnancy is typically considered a threatened miscarriage. He told you that because the possibility is there and to cover his ass from malpractice law suits. Good luck, try to take it easy for the next few days. Hope all is well.

Doctors aren't allowed to give definite answers about these type of things because if you did miscarry and they said you wouldn't, you could sue. Same goes for if they told you that you definitely would miscarry and then went on to have a healthy pregnancy. You could sue for emotional distress.
Sometimes women just bleed in pregnancy! Try not to stress too much and here's hoping it all stays good from now on

Quoting Brittt [2]:" About 3-1/2 hours ago I started bleeding about as much as a moderate flow period almost. When I sat on ... [snip!] ... What do you think?? My friends who have had children didn't really understand and my bizarre bleeding. I'm 10 weeks btw."
I had very heavy bleeding when I was pregnant with my youngest DD, around 5 weeks. They told me the same thing. She's almost 5 months now.
Just take it easy. Good luck!

I had this happen to me. And I am now over my due date, little stinker doesn't want out. :-) It is hard to relax but if you focus on the stress and pain it'll only get worse. Do something to get your mind off it, probably not completely but enough to let you feel normal.

I had the same thing at almost 7weeks. I know its scary but dont think the worst. Im 12 weeks now and they still dont know why it happened but nothing was wrong. Think positive and rest more.

I did that with my last baby. What happened was, I had a large clot looking thing in me from my miscarriage that did not clear out and the larger she got, she pressed against it causing massive bleeding. When they checked her she was fine and then they seen the large clot she was mashing. I wish I had a way to show you the pic. it looked like I had twins...except one was baby and the other a clot. I continued to bleed for months until it was all mashed out. Baby was fat, normal, and healthy. I was just placed on be rest and needed plenty of pads...also weekly visits to make sure we still had a heartbeat.

Okay thank you so much ladies. I know he couldn't tell me whether or not I would or I wouldn't. I mean, I just wanted to know if it was happening right then from the bleeding. Just the response part "days from now" really freaked me out. I never bled with my first pregnancy. Not even implantation bleeding. I bled very light and twice before I even knew I was pregnant which I was probably around 1-2 weeks unknowingly it didnt scare me because I was waiting on a period and it was so light and pink. Thanks again for all the answers they really help me ease my mind I'm just glad my baby is safe.

This also happened to me, went to ER, baby was okay/cervix was closed. Threatened MC. TWICE lol......I was diagnosed with a Subchorionic Hematoma, or a blood clot between the placenta and uterus. I'm 15 weeks now, the clot has disappeared, and I haven't bled in 2 weeks Good luck hon xoxo

Oh no! that baby better stay put!!..I'm glad to hear that the doctor found a heartbeat and that your cervix is closed.....I'd be putting myself on bedrest until after 12 weeks...and like I said, majority of my first trimester I avoided sex because every time we would try it felt like he was poking my uterus(no joke!).....just do what feels comfortable with you until your next doctors appointment...
