Can my 1 year old have a cavity

posted 3rd Dec
I was brushing his teeth before bed, and noticed this tiny brown spot on his top tooth. Can it be a cavity?? I brush his teeth almost every day. I've honestly forget with me working so much now. But he doesn't eat sweets much either. I looked it up and it is possible for a baby to get them.

I wont be able to take him to a dentist in at least 2 weeks and just wanna know what I could do or how to even tell if it is.

Yes, he could have a cavity. I think Macie has one on her top tooth. She won't let me look at it good enough to tell though..

You answered your own question. Yes it's possible. However my brother had brown spots on his teeth and they were from alot of iron I think. It wasnt a cavity

My son had it. Do not miss that appointment. It was decay on his teeth. Well it took a month to get in cuz they were so booked.... He went from spots to the front four top teeth half missing from rotting off. It was genetic and tooth brushing couldn't stop it. Maybe your case is different but it can get bad fast if it is decay. my son had to have surgery at 11mo old.

Ehh. He does drink a LOT of milk. But idk. I was asking as to maybe it can be something else. Because I just noticed it. My daughter has had perfect teeth, and just sucks that he has a cavity at only 1.

My daughter has a brown spot on her front top tooth I know she won't sit still long enough for a dentist to look at it. Since she is starting school soon i want to get it fixed I'm not sure if the dentist would drill and fill or pull the tooth out or just wait until it falls out. It's crazy because She brushes her teeth twice a day even her tounge she even has the kids act mouthwash.

On this topic, does anyone know when you're supposed to start taking toddlers to the dentist? My son has 16 teeth and is 19 months old. We brush them twice a day but I'm wondering myself if he needs to be having semi annual dentist trips or anything yet.

It could have been alot of calcium. I'll have to ask my mom tomorrow because I can't remember.

Oh no! Well his daddy and grandpa have had pretty bad teeth. To the point where there are big holes in them. Even with brushing. But my oldest has had perfect pearly whites. It's honestly been a challenge though with working a lot now though. Ehh. Hope his dentist says it isn't a big deal.

I believe you start regular trips at 3 or 4. I haven't taken L in yet and I didn't get my first until I was 4 I think

Well when I was reading about it on google, I noticed a lot of moms said to stop letting him/her drink a bottle of milk at night. He doesn't drink milk at night, but does ALL morning, and hasn't had a bottle since he was 11 months.
