If you thought you were going to die

And your children were still small would you write a letter for them to open at some future point in time? Like to tell them that you love them or whatnot? I'm thinking of doing this before I go in to sugery this next time. I just don't know how to put it into words.

Yes, i would. But, you should try not to think about stuff like that! Are you nervous? What surgery are you having?

I would probably make a video telling them those things. I would have no idea how to say it, its actually making me teary thinking about it

i remember watching an episode of super nanny before and before the mom died she did this for her kids and it was so touching

Id write a letter and make a video I'm sorry you are nervous  

Yes, I would want to do them for each "occasion"
Ex: Birthdays, longer one for sweet 16 or 15
Advice for their first time being in love
For their first time getting their heart broken
Their wedding day.
Advice for their first child
etc...

I would put them all in envelopes, seal them and mark them appropriately with what event it's for and have instructions for them to only open them on each certain occasion or if SO was still around, I would have him give it to them on each occasion.

I have a friend whose dad killed himself. Before he did, he wrote her a letter to open every year on her birthday up until she would turn 39 (the age he was when he killed himself) giving her advice for that age, and requested that she write him a letter every year after that so she can teach him the life lessons he never got to learn.

I'm having some scar tissue removed from around my inestines. It's supposed to be done laproscopically but the doc may have to open me up via bikini cut if it's super bad.

I consider myself very lucky to still have both parents with me.. Although i dread to see the day come that i lose one of them. I honestly don't know how i will handle that.
