perineum massage

Who has tried it? Did it help? Does it feel odd? I am reading on it, thinking of doing it...If i can reach down there lol, or telling DH to do it for me. Please share your experiences with it. TIA

with my first the nurse did it during labor. Never even notice (thank you epidural) with my second there wasnt much time for anything.

So you tried it at the time of Labor? Did you try it before hand? I have heard i can start doing it now!?

My nurse did it during labor but I couldn't feel it. It helped tons because I didn't tear and I had a 9 pound baby.

Thank you for sharing, I think I will try doing it since right now.... Maybe it will help me. Did you ask for her to do it, or she suggested it?

I started reading about it too. I guess I figure the hassle of doing it is about equal to the hassle of dealing with an episiotomy... and I was talking to a friend who said she was told to use olive oil too.. I didn't read that. . But idk.. we are due pretty much same time so what I read said now is the time to start

Neither lol. She just started doing it and I thought it was normal. When my friend was in labor her nurse barely did it and she tore with a 7 pound baby. I think it is pretty great.
