I consider them losses....generally if you get a positive test you are pregnant, and that is that. I beleive the feeling of knowing its a baby and getting excited then losing or finding out you are wrong is just as devastating at any stage, and traumatic, more so or less based on the mother it happens to. I've had early losses and I have had one later term loss, both devastated me, both hurt to think about, even though the later loss caused a lot more mental distress. I don't think, having experienced a loss I coudl ever judge another woman for feeling she'd had a loss, no matter how early or what kind of problem or pregnancy had occurred. Its something you feeel as a mother inside and it deserves validation.

I believe I had a chemical in October, but I don't consider it an angel baby. Mostly because I'm not even sure that I was pregnant to begin with, I feel weird even discussing it as a loss.

I began spotting before my period was due, got a faint positive, then negatives. I was excited, disappointed, then moved on.

Those are angel babies IMO

I'm starting to lean towards counting chemical pregnancies as angel babies as well

Same here.

I have never considered my chemical as a loss or angel baby because I knew it wasn't viable the moment I got my beta back. I never experienced "being pregnant" with that pregnancy. I've never had a blighted ovum but I would probably still consider that a loss.

I've had several chemical pregnancies and no, I don't consider it to be a loss or an angel baby.

Quoting Stephanie Vetor:" So when one has a "chemical pregnancy" do they get a positive test result back? Me being Christian if ... [snip!] ... results but no embryo forms enough to make a baby it is a loss. It was a start that didnt make it for one reason or another."

There was still an embryo that was lost, beating heart or not. It became an embryo when the egg was fertilized.

For some women it hurts more not to be a mom than to have multiple miscarriages.

Quoting Raindancer:" I could see that. But if you get multiple tests coming up as positive (especially when you almost never get evaps on those tests) then that is pretty hard core proof."

I know with mine, we didn't know until I was seven weeks along and it had a heartbeat. It sucked to know that I had to terminate the pregnancy or bleed to death. It hit me almost as hard as the baby I lost at 12 weeks.

I personally would consider it an angel baby. But that's just me
