1 month baby

how long is the normal sleeping habit of a 1 month old baby? I dont know if it's just because he's coming down with a cold (i'm assuming because he's a little stuffed up) or if it's because of his age, but he sleeps A LOT! I had his 1 month apt today & she said he looked fine everything was okay. I'm just curious to know if his sleeping habits are normal for his age.

My daughter slept at least 18 to 20 hours a day at that point.

oh wow! okay. i should have asked his pedi. it totally slipped my mind because she was telling how well he was doing & looked.

try a humidifer, my son was stuffed up for months before i got one, and it did the trick

How close did you put the humidifier? We got one too it's a cool air one. but he still has that stuffy nose. is it a NB thing?

i have it across the room on the dresser. my son had a stuffy nose for a good 5-6 months, which i found odd, bc i was told if you delievered vaginally that helped squeeze all the gunk out of their lungs, but stuffed up he was! keep using it every night, may take a little bit to work, but def cant hurt!

okay. ya we started using it the day we brought him home. i do think the pedi said something about that being normal. i just have an awful cold so i figured it was part of that, like he was getting it. i hope to God not though. it's miserable!

Well be glad he sleeps now my sons a month old tomorow and he is always fighting his sleep!

it may be a cold too, but babies are pretty resilent, colds dont effect them quite as much as they do us. keep up what your doing, and it will get better! also, i never had any luck w it, but i hear baby vicks on the soles of the feet before bed helps!
