Sharing the News

When or how are you planning on breaking the news to family/friends? I'm thinking of clever ways to share over Christmas. What do you think of having the grandparants help my daughter open a gift and inside is a shirt that says "Big Sister"? Corny or Cute?

We took a picture of DD holding a birds nest with one egg in it. Our last name is Finch (which is a type of bird) and what we wrote on the back of the picture was "There's an egg waiting to hatch this spring".
We slowly started getting calls from family who either got it or were totally confused hahaha

I think your idea of the big sister shirt as a present is cute! Not corny.

LOL... Yea! I think a few of my relatives would be slow to grasp that as well... Very cute though  

Last time they were confused when we broke the news with our first born because I was on Birth Control. They just kept staring at me like... she doesn't look pregnant.. is this a joke? FInally they starting smiling and hugging us. I think the shirt would be straight forward.. lol

We're finally telling my family on Saturday (when we do Christmas). I'm thinking about maybe making ornaments for the grandparents (we're having baby #3 so I'm thinking 3 angels)

thanks   We got lucky to be able to do a play on our last name  
But I only got her to sit for that picture because she wanted both the eggs that the nest came with. I didn't want people thinking it was twins so I only wanted one egg in the pic. She kept getting upset so I gave her the second egg back and just photoshopped it out hahaha

I think your (OP) idea is really cute!

Since it's Christmas time time I think decorating a tree in pink and blue and baby things would be a cute way to announce pregnancy. Just a thought though.

Cute as ladies   Oh the pink and blue decorations are a cute idea   Wish we were having Christmas here, but we will be traveling to see them.

I think I'll do the t-shirt idea since it'll probably be the easiest to pull off. So excited.. I can't wait!
