how does your 5-6 month old sleep
posted 3rd Dec
At night here the thermostat is set at about 73 degrees. During the night though, it dips down to about 70 or so and is pretty cold.
I don't know what to dress her in! I usually just put her in a sleeper, and cover her up in the middle of the night, but that's when she's in her swing.
I'm trying to transition her into her crib, and i'm very worried about her getting too hot/cold. I also am terrified to put a blanket in there, I'm scared she will roll over and suffocate with it.
What do you do?!?!
What do you dress your baby in? Do you cover them up in the middle of the night? How is it working for you?

i have a quilt that i swaddle my sixth month old in. I put her in a sleeper as well. Its usually pretty cold in our room. She usually wiggles her arms out but as long as she has long sleeves on she stays warm enough

get a sleep sack, and 70 isn't cold at all... baby's room should be on the cool side my house is always set at 66, I'm cheap and I prefer to be cold. They say babies need one more layer then we do. So a onsie, sleeper and a sleep sack should be all the baby needs.

Try a Halo sleepsack. They're light enough when it's warmer, but just warm enough when it's cooler. They have different weights/materials, too, and eliminate the need for a floofy blanket that moms worry about the risk of suffocation with.

He wore a sleep and play to bed. We keep around 69 at night year round.
eta: NOT the fleece kind, he gets too hot in those.

I don't know, when it's 68-70 degrees in here, it's FREEZING.
She will wake up and her hands and toes are ice cold.
I was thinking about a sleep sack.
It's just some nights, she will be so hot, and then she will wake up so cold.
*sighs* I worry too much.

yeah baby's rooms should be between 66-70 degrees and sleep sacks are the way to go for sure blankets aren't the greatest idea..

We dress him in a sleeper, swaddle him and rap him in an additional blanket. If its really cold we put a space heater in his room. We can't afford to run the heat so has long as baby is warm that's all that matters.

Right now she sleeps in a pack in play in her own room and it gets kinda chilly in there as well. I usually put a footed sleeper on her, either fleece or just regular ones depending on how cold it really is. Also she does have a little quilt in there with her, I know they say nothing but she can roll over just fine so I'm not too worried about it.

DS usually got to sleep in a diaper and blanket but that was because it was during the summer. Now he's usually in footie pj type thing and a blanket. He usually kicks his blanket off within 10 minutes of being asleep though lol
