When do babies outgrow a milk allergy?

posted 3rd Dec
Or do they ever? My little guy is 8 months old and his chart says that around this age he can start having cheese, plain yogurt, and cottage cheese but I'm thinking that I shouldn't give him those things since they are made with milk. Will he always have a milk allergy?

depends on the type of "allergy" most it's by age 2, some it's never.

My daughter is 17 months and she still struggles with it. My pediatric told me that babies should grow out of it by age 2

So do you think he will be able to have some cake on his 1st birthday without it bothering him?

Are they 100% positive its a milk protein allergy or is it just suspected? My DD is 8 mos old and they suspected it with her due to microscopic blood in the poop and massive fussiness and silent reflux. She has been on Elecare formula since. At her 6mo well check up, they mentioned that I could start yogurt and what not. I questioned this and they said that it is a suspected allergy and to go ahead and try and if she has a reaction to cease doing so. Well, I tried the yogurt about 6 times already and guess what? No reaction! I would say give it a try and if she reacts she reacts... at least you know for sure it is the milk issue. Most suspected allergies actually aren't allergies at all. I say give it a go if the pedi says its ok and see what happens.

Both of mine had some cake at their birthday's but just a little bit and I gave them apple juice and gas drops just to try to help with any gas or constipation problems that might arise.
