Changing his mind...

DH is dead set on naming this kid Isabella if it's a girl. Like, not budging. :/

It's an ok name, but it's just not my cup of tea... Y'know?

Did any of you let your SO name the baby even if you weren't wild about it? Did it grow on you? Or did you manage to sway him? If so, how?? lol

I totally swayed him. We originally both wanted Evelyn but I changed my mind. After that I cried till he came around to the first name I wanted. I offered to let him pick the middle names but after watching labor and delivery he totally caved. I got the exact name I wanted that he was so strongly against.

Well. I was single with my two kids.. So i didnt have to please anyone but myself. But what my cousin and his wife did, was with their second, if it was a boy, she picked the name. If it was a girl, he picked the name... Sounds like a fair way to compromise to me... But idk...

LO's name had to grow on me and I changed the spelling like 3 different times. DH wanted to name him Case Daniel. I, personally, thought that it being spelled like that he would get made fun of. So I changed the spelling from Cace to Kace (everyone said people would see that as Kay Cee not case) and finally to Kase. I had another name picked out but that is what we went with Kase Daniel

I would never Give a baby a name I didn't like. DH and I chose names we both loved.

DH wanted either Christina or Sophia for DD. I refused Christina and gave into Sophia if we called her Sophie. At first I was unsure of it but when she was born I realized the name fit her perfectly.

lol... If I cried he'd probably give in, but he'd get his feelings hurt and then I'd feel bad.  


He said I could pick the middle name, then we'd swap if it was a boy (I'd pick first, he'd pick middle). I just don't know if I trust it. I'm scared of what he might pick! lol. DD's name was mutual.

we both picked her first name and her middle name is his mothers first name i got to pick the spelling of her name tho    : )

I gave in and let SO name LO Holden. I was not a fan, but it grew on me.

SO was dead set on naming LO Jose Antonio after himself. I'm not a fan of juniors. At all. I was totally against it. I got to add Robert after my late nephew and we called it a draw. We now call him Joey so it all worked out in the end. He isn't crazy about our girl name when and if we have a girl. Josselin. So here's to hoping our next one is a girl so I can give him some payback hehehe.

SO wanted our first son's middle name to be Curtis, bc that's his dad's middle name. I HATED it! Even cried about it (without him knowing, bc I didn't want to hurt his feelings). I could have never imagined naming my kid Curtis, middle name or not. I went with it anyway and it has really grown on me, can't picture his middle name being anything else.

I'm really hoping if it IS a girl it will just grow on me. I used to really like the name...

I kinda have a hunch that it's a boy, but I'm probably wrong. I'm not as sure as I was with DD... I KNEW she was a girl.

I am not proud of doing what I did. But for me I knew that no name fit her like the one I gave her. The thought of using Evelyn was impossible because it wasn't her name. Which is why I was crying the thought was unbearable for me. Especially since I didn't even have her name on our list of names. I just woke up one morning and knew.

Ok, I could see me doing that! I felt that way with LO's name. It was just her name - no changing it. It fits her.
