Did he overstep his boundries?

Hot Topic: A Mesa Arizona principal is under fire because of an unconventional punishment for two high school students caught fighting. Westwood High School Principal Tim Richards ordered two students to publicly hold hands for an hour or face suspension for fighting during gym class. The Mesa Public School District has issued a statement saying that they do not support the punishment and will address the issue with this principal. Today, students of the High School held a rally in support of Principal Richards.

Do you support Principal Richards' unconventional punishment ordering the two boys to hold hands? Or, do you think he overstepped his bounds and should face disciplinary action?

Yes and he should definitely have some serious consequences.

Ugh, I think it is great and not the least bit harmful. They are high school students for crying out loud and if they can put their hands on each other to fight they can hold hands for an hour.

I live in AZ as well so now we are going to be hearing about this for months.

I personally think it is a good form of punishment. I bet they won't fight in school again. 

I personally LOVE the idea.
I did that to my nephews once. They were fighting really bad. Kicking, punching, biting...I told them if they didnt stop I would make them hold hands in the front yard. Well they didnt stop so I did. I made them hug and hold hands and even kiss one anther on the cheek. I bet those boys in school will be friends now tho.

I think it was a good punishment as well! I think suspending kids is stupid.. just takes away from their education. IMO suspending/expelling doesn't do much but take away from their education.

He made them hold hands, it's not like he made them cage fight to the death....

People need to lighten up.

I think it's fine. He didn't force them to hold hands. They could of taken the suspension.

He gave them the option hold hands or get suspended. They could have picked suspension.

its not like he handcuffed them together

I don't think it's a big deal. Better than schools being allowed to hit your kids.

LOVE it! It's completely harmless and maybe will show them skittle love goes a long way.
