re: young mommas. rant.

thank you ladies for understanding what this post was really about. yes one thing happened on the internet but like i had said before that was just the last straw. i live in a very small town and everybody knows everything about everybody. i hate the comments people say thinking i cant hear them or the dirty looks i get, i know its a part of life but no matter what your getting judged for it hurts. it seems like to me when you make a decision and people stereotype you for it, they don't see you anymore they put this label on you and forget about the person they are labeling. its hurtful, and if you ask me it unnecessary . i just don't understand why people do that. i know it will never change but i just don't understand.

I'm not being mean or anything you just gotta suck it up you will be judged whatever you do when you have your baby you will begin to learn to sm**rf what anyone else thinks or says what do they know have they walked in your shoes? no so ignore it.

Hey its okay, i get judged to I'm almost 18 and trying to make the best life for my daughter and my SO is older than me and we get weird looks all the time because we both look like were 16. People judge and always will. It sucks but we learn to deal with it and prove everyone wrong. But your right sometimes venting is highly needed when your frustrated.

I judge you for thinking it's perfectly fine to smoke while carrying your fetus, and not being able to take criticism. Your age doesn't define the type of parent yo 'll be, your mentality does.

Has she actually said that, or are you assuming that because she does smoke? Not everyone thinks its "perfectly fine to smoke", but some people just can't quit, even though they know how bad it is.

I never said it was perfectly fine. I tried to quit and i cant or i have been unsuccessful i have cut down alot before i got pregnant i smoked almost 2 packs a day now a pack lasts me a week. Im still trying to cut down more like you said its just harder for some people than it is others.

I'm 24.. married... and have 3 kids. And I still get this only because I look 17. lol I did have my first when I was 19 but I was so happy when I was pregnant with her that if anyone did judge me give weird looks.. I sure as hell didn't notice!! lol Over the years the main thing I've learned to do is stay away from negativity. If you don't like me that's ok cause I can not like you in return. Don't associate yourself with people that will bring you down.. and most certainly don't worry yourself over what strangers have to say. Why care?? They don't know you.. and you don't know them and probably won't ever see them again. As for the small town thing.. trust me I live in a one red-light town that don't have a single fast food joint. Word gets around. Yet somehow nobody knows much about me because I keep my business to myself and stay away from those chatty gossipers. I know you know who they are if your town is as small as you say. Not trying to sound mean or bitchy.. but you did want suggestions.. and you did want to know if anyone can empathize. I'm not bothered by it anymore.. but I used to be so I understand. Let your baby be the center of your universe and you won't see anything else.

I didnt take what you were saying as bitchy, my daughter is everything to me but it doesnt mean other things dont get to me.I have always worried way too much about what otgers think but a really good friend of mine told me not to worry about what otgers think because they dont do it very often. Im just hormonal and im sensitive person. I needed to vent or i was dwell on it for ever. But thank you for your advice.

okay so what if she smokes? she cut back thats all that matters and is still trying to cut back more. not everyone is perfect. i smoke here and there and have been throughout my pregnancy only if im really stressed what matters is that her daughter is healthy. she wanted to vent, let that be.

Exactly. It doesn't make her a bad mom, she's trying. FFS, i'm 38 weeks, and can't kick it completely, but i cut down from a pack a day, to one evry few days. Its not easy.

People might be judging you because your "baby daddy" looks like a serial killer.... Tell him to get some clothes that fit, holy Christ.
