Need to meet new people

posted 3rd Dec
I have been with my SO for a year and a half now. Before we got together i had a million friends and always had plans. sense we have been together he became the center of my life. Now im almost 5 months pregnant and i really only have two close friends left. I miss having people to talk to and hang out with and now i dont even know where to start. I dont go to school and i work at a small business. idk if im just being hormonal but it just feels like i need people to hang with other than my SO. Just needed to vent a little

I feel ya. The only people I see now are SO's family, especially after I've had DS. Can you try getting in touch with your old friends?

Ah I see, I didn't check where this was posted. I'm 23 so a lot of my friends have kids as well, and the ones that don't and are still partying still want to catch up at least every now and then. I know a lot of people that have had kids in their teens and have lost every one of their friends. It must be so hard   Are there any young mums playgroups or anything like that in your area? They're a fantastic way to meet new people in the same situation. Even if it's not a "young" mums group, meeting new mothers could be good for you as well.

Hmm, i'd try google first. Young mums group + insert town amd state. or facebook is another one, they usually have facebook groups so everyone can keep in contact.

Me too. It'd be nice to have a friend that doesnt just care about partying.. and then when u have your boy ours would be able to hang.

i had the same issue, ive been constantly around SO to the point where im like "i love you and all but seriously i need my own damn space for five minutes!" but i still talk to alot of my friends just they are out partying and being dumbasses; but some come to visit or atleast text me, and when i found a job it honestly made me feel better interacting with people other than my SO/ haha

I'm going to be 30 and since I had my son, my friends are MIA.
They don't even call or txt. I was at one point trying to keep in touch
With them by texting every so often. But I would get back one word
Responses. I just find it wasn't worth my time trying anymore.
Try looking into your local library for events they have. They'll have reading events mommy and baby. This way you can have play dates for the kiddies and some girl talk with new moms. Don't sweat it... If they forgot about your friendship, it's prob better for you to move on !
