Pain after filling........
posted 3rd Dec
I got a cavity filled at 10am today and mouth still hurts where I got it done....is that normal? (this is pretty sad because I feel like I should know this because I am a dental assistant but I work in orthodontics so I don't have to deal with fillings) and I haven't had a cavity in over ten years....so I can't remember.

Your mouth might be sore from the numbing shots. If its the tooth that hurts, it shouldn't. Happened to me and it was cause the damn dentist drilled too far down. I ended up with a root canal after a year of pain.

he said I might end up needing a root canal because of how big the cavity was...but I'm not sure if it is my tooth that hurts or the area where I got the shot that hurts. I guess luckily for me I work with a lot of dentists and I could just ask them tomorrow lol.

Yeah I would ask them take some tylenol and see how it feels in the morning. Really it might just be sore from the shots. I hope that's the case

Don't say fillings hurt, i have to get quite a few in the next few months and was told it'd be painless lol. I'm sick of dental pain, got heaps of problems with my teeth and right now am dealing with a dry socket from an extraction .

they said it was because it was so deep. it doesn't hurt now.
