Diaper rash

posted 3rd Dec
Can you tell if a diaper rash is caused by yeast just by lookin? are there different symptoms? My 11 week old girl has had a very red bumpy rash for about a week now, it is mostly in the front.I have treated it with desitin max, air and changing her diaper all the time. Are there any good remedies? I am probably gonna just take her to the dr tomorrow. She was on antibiotics about two weeks ago for an upper respiratory and ear infection, her mouth looks good, no thrush.

If she was on antibiotics she could get a yeast infection from that. If you have plain, unsweetened yogurt you can use that on her diaper area to help clear it up and soothe the rash.

I think a yeast rash has raised bumps within it.

Its usually raw looking. But If you are concerned you can ask the pharmacy of they have gentian cooler (OTC but behind the pharmacy counter). Rub some
On the area and let air dry. It will stain. And if LO does get thrush you can do the same inside their mouth.

As long as it's plain, yes. Or like another mama said genitan violet will also help.

It's super cheap. Like $5 maybe. And you don't need much. I think it's also used for cuts if you needed it in the future. Just take a cotton ball and rub it on LOs bottom. Don't let Her get it on clothes or the carpet or anything. It stains bad.
