late period...weird test. HELP.

Okay, my period is late, and I took a pregnancy test a few hours ago, I saw on a website that if you're suspecting you're pregnant and you get a negative test to take the test apart so you can see it better. I took it apart and held it up to the light. You can see a faint clear line, on the top and the bottom of the line you can see a little pink. I'm confused on what this means. YES I am going to make a doctors appointment. I just want some opinions please! (=

How late is your period? you may not have high enough HCG levels to get a clear result. I would just take another test in the morning and see what happens.

I've always been told it's bad to take the test apart. Do you have a picture?

I don't have a picture. My period is only 3 days late. But I had the test i took a few days ago also, and i took it apart. and there is no line at all. so idk.

thats called the antibody strip...where the dye would have collected if you were pregnant.. the pink dots on the top and bottom r just from the dyr running across the strip...its not meant to be seen. its a negative.

I would really leave it another few days leave it until your a week over due and then if your period hasn't come go get tested.

I would wait a few more days and take another test and take it first thing in the morning...the first pee of the morning is more likely to have a higher level of the HGC(pregnancy hormone) so this is why they say test in the morning if you suspect you are pregnant even after a negative. You definitely don't want to take apart the tests! Time them so you can get an accurate result also! Sometimes you can think you are seeing 2 lines after the test has been sitting longer than the 3 minutes or however long the box says it takes. When you take apart the test you see things you are not supposed to see like the one person said, and it will look like you should have had 2 lines but that's not how the tests work!

nope, even a negative test would still have the lines on it if you took it apart.done it myself.
