ask the hospital. I wouldnt eat a huge meal but since they dont let you eat in labor I would at least eat something.

I was told to eat, but I had midwives.

I got to go home with each of my two rounds of Cervidil and then again after the second round was inserted. I was told to eat something in the morning before they started Pitocin, even if ice cream was the only thing I could stomach  .

And the hospital brought me lunch during my induction. I don't know if that is normal or if it was because I had midwives.

I ate during labour, at the hospital. It seems silly not to (I know that is some hospitals policy though).

both of my boys were induced. the first 1 I was able to eat dinner because I went in the night before and got a pill put up my cervix and then I was able to get the potcin. my second 1 I was not able cause I went in in the morning got the potocin and then had him in the afternoon. your OB should have told you if she thought you would deliver that day or the next day. if they are shooting for the baby to be out that day you cant eat. not for 12 hours before the delivery just Invar if the have to do a fast c section

yes, you can eat. You need the energy because they wont let you eat in the hospital while you're in labor!

I was told not to eat 8 hours before my induction appointment. My induction started at 8 am, so I wasn't allowed to eat or drink after midnight.

The reason I was told not to eat or drink was in case they needed to do an emergency c-section. You're not supposed to eat or drink before being put under with an anesthetic because some people become ill and throw up while under which can be dangerous.
