I don't remember it always being this extreme. In the past 5-6 years I have seen more extreme views with this mindset in place. Maybe it's always been this way, and I am just older and more aware now. I wish it would change. But I don't see that happening. From congress to voters, it's wanting the most extreme.

It really has changed. I think 9/11 had something to do with it, as well as our politically controlled media.

*probably education, socioeconomics as well

Did you vote for a third party candidate or just talk the talk?

Yay! I hear a lot of people talk about disliking the two party system and then voting either Republican or Democrat. 1%ers are the best!

I was so convinced we would get more than 1% though   I mean, a lot of places did fair better, but as a whole I thought it would be so much higher. Election night I honestly didn't even care about Obama and Romney's numbers because I pretty much knew Obama had it, the Republicans threw away the election when they nom'd Romney IMO. My FB posts were yelling about where to find Johnson's numbers   I probably looked like a fool, but meh. I actually did a straight party vote which I have never ever done, but I have just gotten so fed up with both parties I voted Libertarian all the way.

He did, however, get a record number of votes by a third party candidate, which is something. He was the only Libertarian candidate on our ballots here, so I voted Republican for the other few spots.

I didn't even bother with anything else. We had a few Libertarians for other spots. Voting literally took me all of 5 minutes lol. I mean, we DO have good republicans left, and democrats. But the ones the party as a whole pushes is typically the one more extreme. I usually vote a pretty decent mix of democrat and republican though. I have never done a straight party.
