Ummm no. He has a LOT of luxuries. If he were poor.. he wouldn't have a vacation fund, new car fund, retirement fund, $3k mortgage payment, $2k charity fund.

They have a house,car,food,vacations, 401k, fun. Not lacking at all.

They are not poor, they are not being spend thrifty though. Between the four of us we only spend $400 at the most on food a month because we shop around and hunt for the best deals. The donations I make are clothes that my kids have outgrown and toys they do not play with anymore and are still functional and in good shape. Our mortgage is nowhere near $3K a month and we budget to where we pretty much always have extra money. He needs to talk to a financial advisor ASAP.

Because a few things don't add up for me. No cell or phone bill....the 800.00 for food - a year? A month? Because 800.00 a year for food is REALLY low or 800.00 a month doesn't equate to whats in his budget. For me, ts just doesn't add up right, something feels off....(aside from the ridiculous budget for extras).

I've never felt poor being charitable. Some of the other things make me wonder though, sounds like bad decision making, maybe his wife works too?
