fluid in ears

Just took LO to get his hearing tested today and he only passed one of the tests with a normal rating. The other ones he seemed to only hear when the sounds got louder. The audiologist said he has fluid in his ears and we have to go to a ENT.. . . So I am waiting for a call from his pedi to get a referrel to a ENT doctor,... He will probably have to have tubes in his ears is what I am thinking.. My son also is speech delayed and I think this might be the cause... He is almost 30 months old..
Have any of you mamas been through this and if so what was the outcome. . were the tubes an easy process and did you notice a difference in speech afterwards?

I went through this with DD for the first few months after she was born...after she failed the second test we were told she had fluid in her ears and to take her to the dr before the next test. Her dr appt was a week later and by then the fluid had apparently cleared on its own. Then she passed her 3rd test. I hope everything works out for ya'll like it did with us. I know how stressful it can be.
