You need to sit them down and be straight up with them. Tell them you are not a child and refuse to be treated like one. Do you have proof you have been renting from them? I think even without a contract they still have to give you 30 days if they get mad and decide to kick you out.

Yeah they are taking advantage of your situation. They need to treat you like an adult and if they don't want alcohol and such that is in their right, I'm assuming, to make those demands, but when they start telling you what YOU can or cannot do then it becomes out of line for landlords.

My parents are VERY strict catholics. Drinking is not allowed in our family (I have broken that rule though) and they are really against me dating. They are against pre-marital sex as well. My mother cannot even go to the movie theatre unless the movie is rated PG (And even madagascar was taboo because it involved casinos and they do not believe in gambling)

They are no drinking, no smoking, no drugs, no pre-marital sex, no gambling, type of people.

Tell them straight up. If you're going to continue renting their property, you need to be treated as a normal renter. You can have friends over whenever you like, date whomever you'd like, and drink whatever you'd like, etc.

I would not be spending money on rent if those things were against the "rules".

9 times out of 10 I pay them by cheque for everything. When I pay them for childcare its cheque. For rent its cheque. Etc.

I do understand a bit more why they are acting like that though. Not that it makes it right.
