37 weeks is term, 40 weeks is full term. And most doctors won't induce unless there is a medical reason and before 39 weeks.

This. And a twin pregnancy is different than a singleton as far as letting the baby bake. Watching the commercial from March of Dimes. 39 weeks is ideal.

Go to other sites. . They say 37 wks is full term. .I think even the calendar on here. . I would tend to disagree with the large number of people being induced at38 weeks. . Especially for the excuse of making the holidays more convenient for family members siblings and doctors. That sounds just as ridiculous to me... btw I do not plan on inducing nor epidural or anything other than natural but I don't think all doctors would agree 39 weeks is full term otherwise they wouldn't be inducing at 38 weeks or at all for that matter.

doctors who induce at 38 weeks for no medical reason are dumb. If 37 weeks was FULL term your due date would be for 37 weeks. The full term of your pregnancy is 40. While other sites and even books might state that 37 weeks is full term most are trying to switch the wording to term vs full term. My best guess would be because to many people try to evict babies as soon as they hit 37 when they really need the extra to bake.

37 weeks is term. 40 weeks is full term..thats why Its 40 weeks of prengancy, not 37.

Nope. There's a reason pregnancy is 40 weeks, not 37. And most doctors W
Won't even discuss induction until you're 39 or 40 weeks.

I did with my daughter...it took almost the whole 4oz bottle mixed with OJ and I went into labor in a few hours. It was an incredibly easy labor! Good luck!

I had a scan with my daughter at 38 weeks. They estimated her to be 8lb 4oz. I had contractions start at 37 weeks and I was 1cm dilated. I went to L&D once a week with contraction 2-3 minutes apart and was sent home every time. At 39 weeks 2 days they stripped my membranes. Needless to say I never went into labor and had a repeat c-section 1 day before my DD. My daughter weighed 10 lbs 2.5 oz. I was pretty bummed because I wanted a VBAC. Be patient your baby needs more time to cook!!!

I took 3 tea spoon and chased it with oj that the best way oh FYI I DID IT WITH THREE OF MY KIDS have any more question pm good luck

Your baby needs 3 more weeks to bake.
I'm due tomorrow and still show NO SIGNS of going into labor yet, but you won't catch me trying casTOR oil. I'd rather not smurf all over myself/the doctor or put my baby in danger. Be patient! You've gone 37 weeks, what's a few more?

Well congratulations on evicting your babies early. Pregnancy is meant to be 40 weeks for a reason, they need that time.
Oh and most women jump on you with this topic because of the dangerous things it could do AND not to mention, trying to get baby out before you're even due is incredibly selfish.
