Fruitcake

Does anyone actually eat (& like) it? My husband asked me to make it so I got his moms recipe and I'm giving it a go this afternoon.... I've never had it so I guess I can't say that I don't "like" it but I don't think it's going to be my new favorite lol

I like it  . I don't know anyone else who does though.

My husband is the only person I know who likes it haha. And his parents. Hopefully it's not a recipe I can mess up too bad!

SO made one one time, I didn't try it bc I don't like them. But I remember it being hella expensive to make. I'm talking like, $40. I was like woah!

I've never tried one but I kind of want to because I'm curious as to what it tastes like.

They are expensive to make and buy, we spent over $35 just for ingredients! And it makes 2- 8.5x2.5 loaf pans. I'd rather just buy it because its a pain to make but since its his moms recipe I figured I'd give it a shot. 3.5 hours in the oven @ 2.75! Crazy

My husband loves it but I don't like half the stuff that's in it but it has
Candied fruit pieces
Walnuts
Pecans
Dark raisins
Light raisins
Brown sugar
Shortening
Flour
Grape juice
Nutmeg
Cinnamon
Salt
Baking powder
And I think one other spice but I can't recall ATM

Yah I don't like more than half the ingredients lol

I love fruit cake. So does my mum, my SO, and our kids.

I use my grandmas recipe. Only one I know how to make.

I love the fruitcake very much , it is delicious and soft, Me and husband love this very much, I still prefer to make this fruitcake at home. My children always like fruitcake.
