I grew up with out any thing and had a very very crapy childhood so I tend to spend way more on my kids than I should...as of right now my kids have about 11 gifts a piece and there is still a few more small things we want to get for our kids..my hubbys parents are like my mom so we come from the same background and both want our kids to have a great Christmas each year I am sure when they get older and want more expensive gifts they wont get near as many

I spend any where from 200.00 to 300.00 per child. But it also depends on thier age. My 12 year old is getting more expensive as he grows but the amount of presents is lessening cause the cost is higher. Plus e doesn't get toys anymore. My 18 month I spent around 150.00 but her stuff doesn't cost as much.

Oops, also forgot to add they got one BIG gift that is for the both of them. They both have birthdays close to christmas, and we don't buy them toys all the time through the year, so the last half of the year, they rack up lol.

I tried to do one "big" toy and a bunch of little toys. The big toy is $50, so I didn't think that was bad. Last year it was over $100.

We spent about 230 on everything still have some stuff to buy. His 15 months. I got big Christmas from my parents an I am one of the most giving ppl I've worked at shelters, at preschool, after school programs, and donate. Just because u spend alot doesn't mean ur kids will expect it. It's actually teaching ur kid about being grateful. And buy not buying ur kids presents will not teach them that.

Liam has gotten
4 sets of pjs (black Friday)
3 new shirts
3 new pants
6 pairs of socks
3 pairs of gloves
2 sweaters
Lego table ( Black Friday)
RC atv (black Friday)
Paint easel (black Friday)
Picnic table ( Black Friday)
And new shoes last month

Still have to get stocking stuff, and one more toy.

This year my 18 month old is getting a play room. I am moving my office to the basement and I am going to paint and decorate the room just for him. I made a felt board to mount on the wall with a lot of cool felt pieces, I am making a magnet board, and a reading nook. I still have to make curtains and throw pillows for it. I am going to put a big bow on the door and open it for him Christmas morning. I do not want to buy him a bunch of toys that will just end up getting lost or broken. I know that his grandparents will buy him toys, and I will have a hard enough time trying to figure out where to store those.

That's awesome! I wish we could make one of our spare rooms a play room but our "dining room" is his play area. It's fine, for now.

I'm making him a sock monkey and a bear blanket lovie thing. I might make him a fabric book too but I just bought him a puppy fabric book.

He has SOOO many toys from his first birthday I don't want to get him anything else BIG....but I will probably buy him a small learning thing...like a bead maze...and a christmas book.

That makes 4 things?

I might make the bear lovie a stocking stuffer

Our first couple Christmases with our first were like that. We spent a lot and I couldn't help myself, lol. I went crazy at toys r us.
