not going all out for christmas...

posted 3rd Dec
I just don't get the point .Meadow is ten months old an has so many toys that she already doesn't play with and honestly it's not like she's going to remember her first Christmas anyways.not to mention her birthday is not even a full month after Christmas. Idk, I guess I'm just starting to feel bad, all these people posting pictures of a Christmas tree with presennts everywhere and I haven't even gotten a tree yet. I mean I'm going to get her a few things but I'm not going crazy over it like all these other moms.
I guess my point is, should I really be feeling bad?

Well I would at least decorate. But a 10 month has to concept of gifts and honestly why waste money? I wouldn't feel bad at all.

We're not going all out. We're too broke.
Taking the girls on a cruise in March so we really need to save up.
Plus saving up to move elsewhere.

We're buying them a few things but not going nuts.

I wouldn't feel bad. We usually don't go all nuts with them when they are that young either.

Get her things she needs, like diapers, wipes, clothes, ect.. At her age, she isnt going to care what is in the gifts, but she will have fun tearing the paper off from them.

Dont feel bad! I am the same way and my kids are 7 and 4...im literally buying no toys this year. Just some clothes a couple games and dvds. They have soooo many toys and they play with none of them! its so aggravating. I was the same for my daughter first xmas. I bought her about 6 gifts half of them being clothes and then just a couple smaller toys. They dont know whats going on lol

Nope! I would decorate with some homemade decorations, but as far as gifts and stuff goes, there is no real point.

We put up a tree and wrapped up a few gifts, mine will be just shy of 5 months...her big gift is a carseat lol mostly just gave her something to rip up she loves paper. The big deal for us is just things to take pics with, I know I loved seeing my pics of myself as a baby at my first xmas.

I honestly get your point, I have a 7 year old and a 9 month old so I have been decorating and we make the tree a big thing every year. Concerning gifts we try to teach our daughter that giving is more important that getting. But we are in the same boat with our 9 month old. We only got a few things for her such as a pillow toy and one other thing because she has so many toys already that were hand-me-downs from friends.

I don't go all out for yule, and my son is almost 4. I get a couple of gifts for both kids, and I barely even decorate.

I was goingo get her a carseat too! She's getting too big for the infant seat so.she will love it and love the box.   then maybe like some blocks and clothes.
