When you first started to lose weight?

posted 3rd Dec
When you first started dieting and exercising, how long after you started did you notice a change?

I'm getting discouraged. I've been trying to lose weight off and on for a while now, and almost 2 weeks ago I really focused on it. I exercise daily, I eat smaller portions of healthier things, and I've been tracking everything I eat and all the exercise I do on my phone. I feel good. I have more energy, I sleep better, I'm overall happier. But I have not noticed a change in my body. I haven't lost any weight, my body still feels gigantic and all my cute clothes still don't fit right.

What gives? I know I'm not going to see a change overnight, but I thought for sure that 2 weeks of proper diet and exercise would at least have me lose a little weight   How long until I can notice a difference?

It was a good two months and 10 lbs before my small clothes fit. I stayed inbetween sizes for awhile which sucked. Don't get discouraged. It's only been 2 weeks.

Are you on hormonal BC? I couldn't lose weight no matter what when I was on the pill. I think that's my problem now, is this damn implanon.

Or maybe you just need some better motivation

No, but I'm on Zoloft and it makes me hungry all.the.time. So I literally eat all day. Just little things every couple hours like a piece of fruit, some raw vegetable sticks, yogurt, string cheese...things like that.

What kind of exercising are you doing?

I know it can also depend on body type prior to starting this new work out/healthier eating routine.

Like, for me, after i have a kiddo but still have like 10 lbs to get rid of, it can take ALOT of intense working out, etc,

But, for my mom, who was on the larger side (sorry, mom) and started her new vegan-esque lifestyle, the first 10-20 lbs just slid right off her in a matter of weeks.

It's good to eat small healthy snacks throughout the day.

Don't get discouraged! I know that's easier said than done. I've been working out on and off for almost 2 years now and i don't see much of a difference unless I look at pictures. Have you been documenting your weight loss in pictures? I did mine on BG after my LO was born in 2010 and looking at it now- I see a difference. But when I was working out- I didn't. I think of it as a "life style change" more than "diet/exercising" because it does truly take a while to get results that STICK. Not just temporary results. It does get discouraging. I just look at other people's story or pants that don't fit and it keeps me motivated.

Lots of cardio (walking, jogging, elliptical, stationary bike, stair climbers, etc) and I do weight lifting/training too. I focus on upper body (arms and abs mostly) every other day and lower body (butt, legs, those awesome love handles) the days I don't do abs/arms.

No...just because I HATE my body   I guess it wouldn't hurt to start though. I just loathe looking at photos of myself haha

That's what I've been told   I like eating throughout the day rather than having 3 big meals. I don't get as hungry as often.
